Major Update on Mac
We've just released a major update, version 3.0.0, for Flow on Mac. This update represents a significant milestone as it includes a complete rewrite of the macOS portion of the project in SwiftUI. After successfully refactoring the iOS version of Flow last year, we're excited to have the entire project now built with SwiftUI. This transition will not only streamline our development process across platforms, but will also enable more efficient updates and feature enhancements in the future.
In addition to the major refactoring, version 3.0.0 also includes some new features like the option to choose which calendar to sync to or setting the session title via script and shortcut.
We've also updated the style of our Mac version to make it look more modern and consistent with our other supported platforms. For example, we've incorporated the green background during breaks, a feature already familiar to our iOS and watchOS users. We've also introduced a slightly transparent window background and updated button styles. These changes are subtle to maintain Flow's minimalist aesthetic, and we're very pleased with the result. You can find the full patch notes in our changelog.
What's next?
Looking ahead, there are a number of new features we're currently working on, as well as some more interface updates we want to incorporate now that all platforms share the same foundation. There are also two major updates in the works, such as the release of Flow for visionOS and the ongoing preparations for syncing Flow across devices. We're already having a lot of fun building Flow in visionOS and can't wait to show you Flow in this new, innovative environment.
We're also looking forward to WWDC24. We're excited to see all the new features and how they could be used to improve Flow.
We're always looking for testers
