Hello everyone. 👋🏻 In today’s devblog, we’ll talk a little bit about our recently released updates and the work we’ve been doing over the past weeks since our last post.
We released three updates in May. Two of them were updates for Flow’s iOS version. In addition to some minor bug fixes and improvements on iOS, we’ve added support for iPad. Yay! We’re excited to now see Flow on iPad as well! We’ll continue to improve Flow’s support and interface on larger devices over time.
As for the macOS version, we’ve added some minor tweaks in the form of settings and optimizations that many users have requested and that improve the overall Flow experience.
Overhauling the sounds
In our last devblog post, we talked about our plans to overhaul the statistics on macOS to show more detailed data and graphs. Today, we’re going to talk a little bit about our planned overhaul of the app’s sounds. A few weeks ago, a Flow user from Italy reached out to us offering his help with the sounds. As it turns out, he’s a very talented student of sound engineering at Milan University. We connected well and he was quick to share his thoughts and creations with us.
Our current plan is to integrate several new handcrafted and Flow-exclusive notification sounds to choose from. Moreover, we’ll differentiate the notification sound depending on the current phase, i.e. Flow session or break session, and whether it’s ending or starting. On top of that, we’ll integrate several phase-dependent ambient sounds for users to choose from, including new ticking and metronome sounds as well as other relaxing and focus enhancing ambient sounds.
We can’t say yet when this feature will be integrated, as we’re still working on features and changes that have a higher priority at the moment. However, we wanted to share our plans and thoughts with you. More insights and information will follow as development progresses.
Other stuff
We’re still working on getting iCloud sync ready and tested. We’re also continuing to tinker with the statistics overhaul we mentioned in our last devblog. We’ll share more on this topic soon.
First-Ever Giveaway
There’s always a first time for everything. This month, we partnered with one of our users, Katelin (@katestiktokaccount), to host our very first giveaway for three lifetime accesses to Flow Pro. Since Katelin is very active on TikTok and makes great video content, we decided to host the giveaway on TikTok. If you’d like us to do this more often in the future and on other platforms, let us know!
Thank you!
As always, if you enjoy using Flow and would like to support its development, we’d be grateful for a review on the App Store. Every review is important and helps our tiny developer studio tremendously.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read today’s devblog! Stay awesome everyone! We hope to see you again in next month’s devblog.
